Better known by their individual site names, Darwin & Wallace run South-West London’s hugely popular ‘address venues’, with sites in Battersea, Chiswick, Clapham, Ealing, Pimlico, Richmond and Wimbledon. Music is an essential part of founder Mel Marriott’s vision and after years of self-curation she handed over responsibility for this central part of her brand to MAV Music.
Given Mel’s enthusiasm for music, she’s a great client to work with, often sending us recent favourites through a WhatsApp group we use to share music ideas. Following the success of our background music services, we were also asked to take responsibility for curation of the ‘Address Session’ podcasts which are now mixed in-house by the MAV Music team as well as booking DJs across the entire estate through MAV Live.

Darwin & Wallace found that customers were often asking about the music at their sites so wanted to give them a way to take home the MAV sound. We were thus asked to take on curation duties of the “Address Sessions” podcast which goes out with their monthly newsletters. We’ve now been providing mixes covering a wide range of sounds for over a year, with a little assistance from our MAV Live DJ’s to help keep things fresh.
As we were responsible for the brand’s musical output, it made sense for MAV Live to start providing some of our DJ talent to the group’s venues. We now coordinate weekly evening DJs across all the sites, with additional sets for brunches, special occasions and holidays.
