The Mandrake
The Mandrake isn't a conventional hotel. Named after a plant steeped in myth and legend, this 33-room five-star boutique in Fitzrovia was designed as an alternative reality, a place where Salvador Dalí originals hang beside works by living artists-in-residence, and where a courtyard draped in jasmine and passionflower won Best Outside Space in the World at the AHEAD Awards.
Music in a space like this can't be background. It has to be part of the experience as deliberately chosen as the art on the walls and the botanicals in the courtyard. Working across ten distinct zones, from the intimate corridors and lift to the Damu Spa and the main CoOc event space, we've built a sonic identity that's as layered and sensory as the hotel itself.
The Yopo restaurant calls for something warm and Latin-inflected. The Waeska Bar shifts darker as the evening deepens. The Jurema Terraces carry a lightness that drifts with the seasons. Each space has its own character, but together they form a cohesive experience - strange, beautiful, and completely unlike anywhere else in London.
